Rent a Motorboat in Kornati Islands

Motorboat Hire in Kornati Islands

The Kornati Islands form a stunning archipelago in the Adriatic. There is very little vegetation on the islands and their rocky landscapes set an unbelievable scenario. The cliffs of the islands are also home to an area of birdlife including peregrine falcons, common swifts and shags. The Kornatis are an ideal place to visit for anyone who enjoys rugged natural scenery and crystal clear waters.

Ironically, there is no natural source of fresh water on the islands which is perhaps why they are uninhabited. There is a limited choice of accommodation on the main island of Karnat but it's very basic, especially given the limited water supply. A better idea is to rent a motorboat and travel from one island to the other.

As there is no ferry service to the islands from the Croatian mainland, renting a boat is one of the few ways of exploring the Kornatis. The other ways to travel from the mainland are in a boat that you own or as part of an organised boat trip.

The biggest benefit of choosing to rent a motorboat in the Kornati Islands is that you can choose the inlets and bays that you want to explore, without being restricted by a planned itinerary. For instance, you may want to moor your boat at Žut which feels almost like a desert island. There is a Marina where you can moor your boat if you want to explore the island on foot or swim in the surrounding clear blue water.

You can visit Žut without a ticket because it's not part of the Kornati National Park. However, a large proportion of the islands are part of the park, so it's a good idea to buy a ticket before you travel or stop at the National Park’s office on Murter to get a ticket.

However, you get your ticket to explore the National Park, you can rent a motorboat by looking at the Sailogy brochure and choosing a craft that you use for your exploration. There are several sailing craft to choose from which are reliable and reasonably priced.

The warm Adriatic waters around the Kornati Islands are perfect if you are using a motorboat to travel. However, you do need to be aware that there are reefs in the area. These reefs are home to some colourful flora and fauna that you can see if you go for a swim. Diving is also available in the area, but only as part of an organised group.

You do not need to go under the water to fall in love with the Kornati Islands though. There is plenty of stunning scenery to admire, either while you are in a motorboat or once you start exploring on foot.

When writer George Bernard Shaw visited the islands, he said this about the mystical abd enticing sight before him,

"On the last day of the Creation, God desired to crown his work, and thus created the Kornati Islands out of tears, stars and breath".

If you want to have a proof of what Shaw said, then you can travel to the islands using a motorboat from {SITE_NAME}. Doing this means that you can experience a good deal of what the islands have to offer, in a relatively short space of time. You may also want to take time to climb the cliffs of Telašćica Nature Park which is to the north of the islands. From here you can get some of the best views of this part of the world before you travel by motorboat to the next beautiful stop on your trip.
