Sukosan is a small town situated upon a vast pebbled bay, that was initially built as a medieval settlement,of which remains has been found under the shallow waters of the nearby lagoon has been today developed as a tourist place. Another must visit place is the Matheo Valaresso's, archbishop of Zadar, summer palace. This palace, built in the 15th century, represents a significant example of ecclesiastical architecture. In the time of the ottoman attacks, local inhabitants found a shelter inside the walls of the palace.
Due to its numerous restaurants and taverns, Sukosan is being considered as a place where to drink and sing. A wine cellar bursting at the seams and a friendly family welcome, it’s no surprise that Restaurant Bepo in Sukosan is frequently packed to the rafters. A nice venue overlooking the marina, anything from the grill is a guaranteed winner (Jadranska Magistrala).
The most particular event you can attend in Sukosan is the traditional carnival season called “Luzari”, where people wear masks typical of the town, and that's is a real special attraction.
