Mooring in Sibenik

I spent my day around Sibenik today and I managed to visit three new marinas in this area, so let’s start with some history and geography: Sibenik is a town located on the coast of central Croatia and, unlike others majors towns in the country, it was founded by Croats.

The Cathedral of Sant James is part of the UNESCO World heritage list, but if you are coming here to spend your holidays on a sailboat the two major attractions are certainly the Kornati Islands and Krka river national park. The Kornati Islands form the densest archipelago in the mediterranean sea with 150 islands spread over an area of 320 km² so my suggestion is to ask your charter agent where to go and how, they will certainly tell you everything about it!

Either when leaving or on your way back to the harbor a must is to navigate the Krka river up to its famous waterfalls and to stop in Skradin, a very relaxing and beautiful experience which can be done in one day! At Marina Madalina in Sibenik I met Ana who became our partner a few weeks ago and she runs a company with 25 sailboats all based here. We basically discussed some features of the website as when we started our collaboration it was not online. Unfortunately the weather today turned to be quite bad again, but I took some pictures of the marina yesterday!
