A Sailing Holiday on a Catamaran

If you visit during the summer months, you will see a lot of yachts. There is a magnificent seaside promenade, called the Bana Berislavica, that feels straight out of a movie. There are many restaurants, bars and cafes along the promenade. It is a lively place to be. Once you have a meal while looking out onto the water and feeling the gentle breeze slowly coming in, eating in front of a television becomes awfully uninteresting.

You will see a lot of catamarans in Trogir. A catamaran is a yacht, but it has two hulls. It is a wide and comfortable boat that is a delight to sail in. For people prone to seasickness, a catamaran is a perfect options because due to its limited heeling, it is comparatively much more confortable than any other kind of boat. You can rent a catamaran in Trogir.

If you are sailing a catamaran for the first time, you need to remember a few pointers. The first thing to remember is that it is completely safe. Although you might not have encountered catamarans in Western countries, but they have been around for centuries. Next, when you try to turn a catamaran, it will feel like it is turning very slowly. Don’t worry, there is nothing to worry about here, this does not mean that anything is wrong with it. Catamarans will just feel slower to turn around if you are used to other boats, which are generally monohulled.

Trogir’s beautiful seaside will make you want to sail even if you haven’t done it ever in your life. The best thing for you to do is rent a catamaran and sail the beautiful waters.

Trogir maintains its medieval identity even in the way it is connected to nearby islands. Towards the south, Trogir is connected to Ciovo Island by a drawbridge.

Must-visit Places When You are Offshore

The Cathedral of St Lovro is a beautiful place. It is peaceful and serene. Apart from that, the architecture is old school. It is a mighty cathedral that is a must-visit for anyone who comes to Trogir. Another building you must not miss is the Town Hall. There is a huge, magnificent staircase here that seems straight out a king’s castle. The Hall also gives you a sense of how things must have been in the past. You can almost imagine people from a different age coming in everyday to discuss their matters.

Another place that is a must-visit is the Convent of St. Nicholas. But it is not open to the general public. You have to make an appointment beforehand. Also, they only accept visitors from the month of October to the month of May. Is it worth it to time your trip around this Convent? Absolutely. It is one of its own kind. It is an architectural marvel, built entirely out of orange marble. It also houses an amazing relief of the Greek god of opportunity, Kairos. This is said to date back to the 3rd century.
