The sailing area from Genoa is: Liguria

Genova is the capital of Liguria and Italy’s sixth largest city. Its rich cultural heritage and neighbouring towns make it a great stop-off point, and easy to explore surrounding areas.

Book a boat in Genoa and make a quick tour into the heart of the city to experience Genova’s narrow winding alleys and charming piazzas, filled with beautiful architecture and authentic Italian restaurants. The city features a mix of modern and historical places, including St Lawrence Cathedral, La Lanterna - an ancient lighthouse located in the port -, as well as Acquario di Genova, Italy’s largest aquarium.

The coastline stretches 30km, where you can also find the colourful old harbour – or Porto Antico - which forms the ancient part of the port, offers the perfect setting to enjoy a drink or a meal on your sailboat! Genoa is the ideal departure spot for sailing holidays towards the French Riviera (Cannes, Montecarlo), the Italian Riviera of “Flowers” (Sanremo), the Gulf of Tigullio (Portofino) and the Cinque Terre.
